Wikipedia—the source of all knowledge says--The phrase soccer mom generally refers to a married middle-class woman who lives in the suburbs and has school age children. She is sometimes portrayed in the media as busy or overburdened and driving a minivan.
How about she goes to 2 soccer game and 1 practice every week? The back of her minivan (okay we have no minivan, but our car is practically a station wagon) is loaded with stroller, picnic blanket, camp chairs and umbrellas as to be always prepared for said soccer games. Her purse is filled with granola bars, cheerios, and various baby toys to entertain both toddler and baby while 7 year old plays soccer.
I must admit Ian’s soccer schedule kept us hopping, but the unexpected thing was how much we started to look forward to watching him play in his games. It was fun to have something to look forward to during the week, Miles loved to cheer for Ian, and even Wes looked forward to all the time he had to play with mom’s cell phone. Who knows-next year we might actually spring for the minivan.
